Evidence
The role description, line by line.
What I have shipped against each requirement, with dates. Where I am newer — climate science and geospatial — I say so, and show how I closed the gap.
Skills & experience — required
- 01
Software engineering and senior technical leadership
- Managing Director & Co-Founder, StarTech Innovation (2021–22 and 2024–present): architect and hands-on developer.
- Software Engineering Manager, OxPay (2023): led 10 developers and DevOps engineers.
- Application Consultant & Technical Lead, NCS Group (2020–21, 2022–23); Blockchain Technology Lead, No Wall (2018–19).
- Programmer / Analyst, National University of Singapore (2001–02). BSc Computing (Hons), University of Portsmouth.
- 02
Taking products from early development to commercial scale
- StarTech (2021–22): delivery and business-management platform serving 300+ merchants; team of 8 engineers across Flutter, Spring Boot and Angular.
- 2R Trade (2002–18): built a medical-device company with its own Morico product line (30+ hospital equipment designs) and distribution across Indonesia.
- StarTech today: AI co-pilot in production for a paying client; ERP and payroll engine for Singapore and Indonesia.
- 03
Architecture, cloud platforms, enterprise delivery
- OxPay: AWS with CDK, Lambda, ECS/Fargate, CodePipeline; Control Tower and landing-zone design; deployment time cut by 60%.
- NCS: Ministry of Defence National Service application for 50,000+ users; Spring to Spring Boot modernisation; React/TypeScript front end.
- StarTech payroll engine: 7,060 automated tests across 484 calculator classes.
- 04
Regulated and financial-services clients; security and auditability
- OxPay: payment systems built to MAS Technology Risk Management and PCI-DSS requirements.
- Defence-grade deployment pipeline at NCS; healthcare data-residency work at StarTech.
- Financial-services grounding: Fidelity Investments (1998); NASD Series 6 and 7 licences.
- 05
LLMs, RAG and AI agents in production
- StarTech AI co-pilot: retrieval over the client’s own documents, layered organisational context, four reasoning modes, multi-LLM routing (provider switched without touching product code), speech-to-text with action-item extraction. Runs on Cloudflare Workers, D1, KV, R2 and Vectorize.
- Agentic engineering in daily use (multi-agent research, coding and review) — this site and its reference library were built with those workflows.
- 06
Data engineering, APIs and scalable infrastructure
- This demo’s pipeline: STAC search, cloud-optimised GeoTIFFs and Zarr hazard cubes read over HTTP, typed schema, tests, provenance per value.
- Bank-statement import, de-duplication and reconciliation for a vehicle exporter moved off spreadsheets (StarTech case study).
- 07
Leading teams and managing external partners
- Led teams at OxPay (10) and StarTech (8); mentored engineers and set coding standards at NCS.
- I have been the external partner myself (NCS consultancy, StarTech for clients), so I scope partner work as testable outcomes.
- Trilingual: English, Indonesian, Mandarin — useful across Singapore, Indonesia and Greater China partners.
Highly desirable
Where I stand, stated plainly.
Sustainability, climate and environmental data
Built a 100-page reference library on TNFD, ISSB, SBTN, NGFS, PCAF, APAC regulation, physical/transition/nature risk and the vendor landscape, then built this demo on it.
Geospatial data, satellite imagery, remote sensing, GIS
Sentinel-2 via STAC with cloud masking, Zarr hazard cubes, return-period handling, CRS and no-data discipline, OpenStreetMap protected areas, MapLibre.
Familiarity with TNFD, ISSB, SBTN
The disclosure view maps results to IFRS S2 ¶29, AASB S2 and TNFD LEAP/C3.0, and states what each metric still needs.
Early-stage and high-growth experience
Founder or early technical lead at StarTech, Jaungle Computing and No Wall; 16 years running 2R Trade.
Scientific modelling, commercialising research
Research computing tools at NUS. I would pair with the science team and hire a hazard scientist early — see the plan.
Why this site exists
Anyone can claim “AI and data platforms”. This shows the kind I build.
Instead of describing the work, I built a small working version of it: honest geospatial numbers, the disclosure metrics they feed, and a plan a board can hold me to.
